Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS) and G7 EDI

Mandatory Electronic Reporting Requirements

Electronic Export Declarations via CERS or G7 EDI

With the Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) platform being discontinued along with the B13A form and manual submissions, there are now two ways to comply with mandatory electronic reporting requirements to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA):

  • G7 Export Reporting Electronic Data Interchange (G7 EDI)
  • Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS)

G7 EDI is typically used by high and medium volume shippers, logistics companies and freight forwarders, because of the large amounts of data that can be transacted with CBSA when used in conjunction with Descartes MSR Customs export compliance solutions.
